01 The Extension

TrainScription is a Chrome browser extension that provides local AI-powered transcription of browser-based audio. The extension runs entirely on your device. Transcription processing is performed locally using a downloaded AI model. No audio or transcript data is transmitted to external servers.

02 License

TrainScription grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the extension on devices you own or control. This license is for personal or professional use by the individual who installed the extension.

• You may use TrainScription for personal and commercial work.
• You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or repackage the extension or its code.
• You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the extension's code except as permitted by applicable law.
• Pro licenses are tied to your email address and may be activated on multiple devices you personally use.

03 Your Responsibility: Lawful Use

This is the most important section. TrainScription is a tool. You are responsible for using it lawfully.

• Recording or transcribing conversations without consent may be illegal depending on your jurisdiction. Laws vary significantly by country, state, and context.
• Many jurisdictions require all-party consent for audio recording. You are responsible for knowing and complying with the laws that apply to you.
• Your employer, your meeting platform, or your organization may have policies regarding recording or transcription. You are responsible for complying with those policies.
• TrainScription is intended for lawful, disclosed, and consent-compliant use.

04 Payment, Pro License & Refunds

Pro license purchases are processed by ExtPay, an independent payment service for Chrome extensions. By purchasing Pro, you also agree to ExtPay's Terms of Service.

• One-time payment. The Pro license is a single $4.99 charge. There are no recurring fees, no subscription billing, and nothing to cancel.
• Lifetime license. Pro is a permanent license, not a time-limited subscription. It covers all future updates to the extension at no additional charge.
• Personal and non-transferable. The license is for individual use across devices you personally own or control. It is not a shared, team, or organizational license.
• Refunds. Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Contact us via the feedback form within 14 days of purchase if you have an issue. Refunds are processed through ExtPay and are subject to their refund policies.
• If the extension is removed from the Chrome Web Store. Pro license holders may continue using any installed version of the extension for as long as it functions in their browser. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance of any planned discontinuation.

05 Disclaimer of Warranties

TrainScription is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all browser environments or meeting platforms. Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, speaker clarity, and the AI model's capabilities.

06 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TrainScription and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension. This includes, without limitation, lost data, missed information, or any damages arising from transcription inaccuracies.

07 Updates

These terms may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the extension after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
